The Pleasant Grove Vikings visited the Hillcrest Huskies on Thursday, hoping for a different result than when the Huskies visited Pleasant Grove to begin the region season back on August 25. And while the Varsity Vikings managed to avoid being shut out this time, they still fell to the Huskies 4-1.The JV Vikings, on the other hand, played one of their most exciting matches, battling the Huskies to 1-1 tie at the half. The second half was filled with offensive fireworks as the Hillcrest side scored two quick goals to make the score 3-1 before Pleasant Grove knew what hit them. From that point forward, however, it was all Vikings all the time. The JV girls managed to score twice themselves, including a unique "belly shot" from Madison Giles. The two scores tied the match 3-3 with just a few minutes remaining. At the very end of the match, the Huskies fouled a Viking player in the penalty box. Kristine Reynolds took the penalty kick, scoring just before time expired to give the JV Vikings a 4-3 victory. The JV record now stands at 8-2-1 for the season.
