Big Match Tomorrow

OK, maybe it's not as big as the World Cup Final, but tomorrow's match between Team Spirit and Arsenal SC Lehi Strikers (side note: Why do soccer teams insist on such long, convoluted names? Why all the nouns and acronyms? Is that some kind of English Premier League thing? Not all the teams in the league, however, seem to be suffering from titleae enormousitis. One team is named, simply, "Felix"--after the first name of the coach. They're 0-4, by the way.) has all the trappings of a clash between the titans of the league:

"In this corner, in second place in the U13 league, outscoring opponents 15-7, with a record of 3-0-1, Arsenal SC Lehi Strrrrikers!"

"And in this corner, undefeated in league play, outscoring opponents 38-2, burning and pillaging every village which does not immediately surrender, Teeeeaam Spiiiiiiiiriiiiiiiit!"

This may be the toughest competition TS will face this season. With another victory tomorrow, the Girls in Gold will cement their place as the favorites to end the first half of the season in first place (the second half of the season, and the tournament, are played in the Spring).

GO TEAM SPIRIT!

I must have accessed the site differently or something because the first song which played on the blog was "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. Is that the theme song to which you were referring? I saw "Umbrella" by Rihanna on the playlist, but it didn't play first.
