Last year, Madison's soccer team (Team Spirit) went 6-6-8 (yes, that's right eight (8) ties--maddening!). At Spring tryouts, the team got significantly better because some of the girls on the team did not make the cut this year and others who were not on the team before did. Team Spirit got significant upgrades with the 4 or 5 new girls. All Spring and Summer, Maddie's team worked and trained and conditioned for hours and hours together. Many (including Madison) went to BYU's week-long soccer camp for girls. And they got better.The first game of this year was against last year's champion, Blue Crush. Team Spirit crushed the Blue Crush, 6-0. The second game of the year, Team Spirit prevailed 15-0 (if winning 6-0 is a "crushing," what is winning 15-0?). In the first two games of the year, Team Spirit is outscoring their opponents 21-0. Tonight, they play another good team, Orem Rampage, who is 1-1 after two very tight games. This will be Team Spirit's first real test of the season. Will the dominance continue? Or will Orem Rampage bring Team Spirit back to earth? I looked up the site but they hadn't reported yet the game..what an exciting way for us to keep track of Maddies' activity....
