It was May 1st, but you wouldn't know it. Snow was on the ground to start the day and the start of the match found parents from both sides bundled up in blankets, parkas, hoodies, and gloves to keep warm and find protection from a cruel wind and freezing temperatures. The Girls in Gold, however, didn't seem to mind the chill as they came out red hot in the first half to score three quick goals against a team which has not won a match in their last seven tries. The second half saw more of the same as Team Spirit finished off FC Edge with four more goals to make the final score 7-0. Rachel Eldredge had a hat trick and Justina Jerema, Naomi Anderson, Kristine Reynolds, and Sarah Thygerson each scored. Madison Giles had two assists, but no goals today.
Team Spirit moves on in the tournament as the top team in Group A. They will meet the second place squad from Group B on Monday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. Click here for the latest standings and schedule.

G-dawg, we ment to come out to this game but because of the cold I would have killed myself taking my kids out in the cold air so sorry I said I would come but didn't come. Maybe that was a good thing, who knows what the outcome would have been. Maybe when the kids aren't sick.
