We got a letter from Jordan's mission president, Randy C. Lewis from Bountiful, Utah, yesterday which read, in part:
"The General Authorities of the Church consider Alaska to be a 'high trust' mission. Because of the vastness of this mission, the missionaries called here are 'independent,' 'self-motivated' and 'highly trusted' young men and women. This says volumes about your call to Alaska."Cool, huh? Sounds like Jordan to me! President Lewis also sent a copy of the "Alaska Anchorage Mission Song" (to the tune of "In Our Lovely Deseret") as well as a brief history of the mission (originally part of the Northwestern States Mission headquartered in Portland, OR), which was created October 15, 1974.
By the way, it looks like the date for when he will speak in sacrament meeting will be July 27th. Let us know if you can make it!
