As you know the 24th of July is huge here in Utah! Different wards from this area come together, using the parade theme, and come up with simple floats and we have a children's parade. When I say float, I mean anything you can make that can be pulled by a four wheeler. This year the theme was "Everyday Heroes" and we decided (our primary activity person decided with our help) that we would salute fireman. We decorated a 10X6 trailer to look like a firetruck (cardboard cut and painted like a truck) and also made some wagons look like ambulances. We had about 40 kids show up for Saturday! The best two floats get to march in the main 24th of July Parade. Well, we won! Amanda and Lucy had so much fun riding on the float on Saturday and were excited to ride again today in the main parade! Today, the parade was twice as long and just as hot but we had a great time. I got to walk alongside our "float" and throw candy and just keep the kids in line:) Hopefully I can get my computer to load photos so you can see the parade. Happy 24th to all! Jen
