As I've watched the coverage of the prophet's funeral and all of the specials on his life and accomplishments, I think back on my own memories and thoughts of our beloved prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley. I was privileged to see him in person while on my mission. It was June 13, 1996. We were having a mission conference in Den Haag. President Hinckley came with his sweet wife, President Oaks and Elder Dean L. Larsen. Not only was I attending the conference, but I had been asked to sing in the choir that would greet him. In my own words from my journal, "I saw the prophet of God today. . .When he did arrive such a hushed feeling came into the room that our hymn 'I Need Thee Every Hour' became barely audible as the spirit bore witness of the power of this man. . .I didn't have any huge spiritual experience or enormous manifestation that this was a prophet I simply felt confident and calm and a small voice in my head said, as the prophet gave his address, "These must be the words of God they teach only goodness and righteousness." I will really miss the sweet Gordon B. Hinckley but look forward to more wonderful things from the next prophet of God.
What are your memories of him?

My memories of President Hinckley are mostly connected with vast number of temples that were dedicated under his Presidency.
I remember reading about his occupation in publicity and journalism when I was about 12 or so. At that moment I realized that people can have an honest character and work in Public Relations.
President Hinckley has influenced my life for the better, and I've appreciated his wisdom in bettering the "image" of LDS members.
