Maybe this it's a little early to talk about Halloween but here goes anyway. What do ya'll think about Trunk-or-Treat? You know, the Halloween activity where the neighborhood parks their cars around the church parking lot and open their trunks for the children to walk around the parking lot and Trunk-Or-Treat to each respective car? Did we have that in Arizona? I think it takes the fun out of Halloween. Yes? No? Remember getting together with your friends and knocking on doors and collecting loot? Remember scouting out the "rich" neighborhoods in the hopes that they give big candybars? Remember being tired at the end of the night from all the walking and braging about how far you went in one night? I guess I see the safety issues in the Trunk-Or-Treat, but it feels like a fun childhood activity that has been tainted somwhow. In a matter of minutes, our kids are done. Not only that, but non-members or inactives don't feel comfortable enough to come and park their car at the church. Then, our kids don't go to their homes for Trick-or-Treating so they are missing out on the Holiday. Okay Zoobies, weigh in. This is not nearly as cool as a "Burning Question." but please find it in your hearts to respond nontheless.

Yes quick and easy that's what it is all about...well not everything should be quick and easy, I'm saying for the little ones it's not so fun to walk a long way. It's not so fun for adults to have to carry the little ones a long way back to the car. I do see your point, because I remember those days but I was a little older then my three. For me for now, this works.
The trunk or treat does seem a bit contrived but is certainly safer. Maybe you could drive them around to some of your friends houses. We have a few like that here....I remember you kids going out for hours and bring back a pillow case full of goodies...but you were much older then your little ones....
Trick-or-what? I don't like it because all the parents just look at me and say, "Isn't that cute, you dressed up to be with your children," and might give me a token piece of candy. ONE FRICKIN' PIECE! Now, when I show up on people's doorstep in the neighborhoods they give me as much candy as I want because they are frightened that I'm there in my costume WITHOUT MY KIDS! HA! Halloween . . . good times. Halloween rocks, man.
Did g-dawg say "Frickin'"? That's some serious passion about halloween candy. I'll tell ya what, you come over to my pad and I'll share my kids candy with ya. Wouldn't want ya tripn' out on us or anything.
Wow, now I'm understanding me elder brothers for once...oh what I've missed growing up. Well, looks like I'll have to make up for some lost time and move to Utah next fall...Hmmm...I am moving to Utah next fall. Woo Hoo, I'm going to be a married man soon. Nuts, I wish it were sooner, that way I could Trick 'R Treat in Halloween weather, not tropical weather...
Jen, I'll have to side with you on this one. I believe we should be out in our neighborhoods getting to know our nonmember neighbors. Oh that's right, in Utah all your neighbors are members. Well, there goes my theory.
